There was some kind of an ice cream shop in the strip mall in Hubbard Woods close to where Tilt used to be but long after it closed that had a Neo Geo machine in it. Neo Geo was an arcade game that let you choose from 2 to 4 different games depending on how it was set up. For a while, Tony and I liked to go over there to play Baseball All Stars. A few years ago I toyed with the idea of buying an old Neo Geo board off of Ebay and building my own machine but it the project seemed a little too ambitious for me.

This is Space Command to Jimmy
I don't know how old we were, probably in Jr. High, but one year Greg and I were at the Winnetka sidewalk sale and we found an old floppy 45 record with a birthday song dedicated to Jimmy. Our friend Jim's birthday was coming up a the end of the summer so we bought it. I think we paid a quarter for it. It was one of the dumbest things we'd ever heard but at the same time was so catchy it was hard to forget.
I can't find one online for Jimmy without paying for it. Apparently, someone else has picked up the business and now customizes songs for a number of different occasions. I'm not sure what the guy in this video is thinking but that Gail is one lucky woman.

General Cinemas
Growing up, there were 3 first run movie theaters that we would go to. The Edens, The Evanston, and Deerbrook Mall's General Cinemas. All three are gone now but I found this bumper that played before all the movies at Deerbrook. It was later replaced with that canibalistic CGI candy band that used the same song.
